A pre-trade note is not a diary entry. It is a short contract with yourself written before size hits the order ticket. In Chart Structure Intensive we grade notes on clarity, not literary style.

The five lines we insist on

  1. Market and timeframe that own the decision
  2. Structure level in play and who last defended it
  3. Invalidation price that ends the idea
  4. Position size expressed as risk units, not hope
  5. Session constraint — for example, no new entries after 3:30 pm AEST if your review window is thin

Mild honesty helps

One student in a recent cohort admitted the note was written after entry for two weeks. Fixing that habit mattered more than learning another candle pattern. If your notes arrive late, Foundations or mentoring can reset the sequence.

Bring samples to class

Paper notes photograph well for homework upload. Start the habit before you reserve a place on the next intensive.
